WWE NXT’s Wes Lee Triumphs Over Former Friend in Brutal Street Fight

Wes Lee emerged victorious in a hard-fought Street Fight against his former friend and tag team partner, Zachary Wentz, during the “WWE NXT” premiere on The CW. The intense match was filled with dangerous, high-risk maneuvers, and concluded when Lee executed a chain-assisted meteora through a steel chair, securing the pinfall over Wentz. The bout took an emotional turn, however, when Wentz hesitated at a pivotal moment. With Lee down and vulnerable, Wentz stood over him, steel chair in hand, and shouted, “I don’t want to do this.” This moment of conflict allowed Lee to seize the opportunity and turn the tables, ultimately surviving the brutal contest.

With this win, Lee gained a measure of revenge for his earlier defeat to Wentz at “WWE NXT” No Mercy in early September. If this match marks the end of their heated rivalry, it could also signal the end of Wentz’s crossover to WWE from TNA for the foreseeable future. Wentz, alongside Trey Miguel, had previously earned a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships in September. However, Miguel was later written off television following a parking lot ambush by Lee, a creative move reportedly tied to a minor surgery Miguel required in real life.

This Street Fight not only delivered high-stakes drama but also potentially closed a chapter in the saga between two former allies turned bitter enemies.
