WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels Discusses NXT’s Move to The CW

“WWE NXT” is set to make its broadcast television debut in Chicago, Illinois, on Tuesday, marking a significant shift from its usual home at the WWE Performance Center. To promote this exciting mini-tour and the transition from the USA Network to The CW, WWE Hall of Famer and “WWE NXT” head Shawn Michaels appeared on “Busted Open Radio.”

“It’s a big move for us,” Michaels stated. “Moving to broadcast television is absolutely huge for us, and the talent’s excited. They’re looking forward to going to Chicago and launching the show.”

Michaels highlighted the varied sentiments among the talent regarding the CW premiere. While some are thrilled about the broadcast opportunity, others are eager to step out of the Performance Center and perform in front of what Michaels describes as the “most notorious” audiences in the country, referencing the passionate Chicago fanbase.

“It’s a fantastic atmosphere at the Allstate Arena, so everyone’s jazzed about going,” he said.

Following the shows in Chicago, “NXT” will continue its journey to St. Louis, Missouri, the following week. Former WWE Champion CM Punk is slated to appear in Chicago, serving as the special referee for the main event featuring WWE NXT Champion Ethan Page against Trick Williams. Additionally, the NXT Women’s Championship will be on the line as Roxanne Perez defends her title against Giulia.

In St. Louis, wrestling fans can look forward to seeing multi-time WWE Champion Randy Orton make his “WWE NXT” debut against rising star Je’Von Evans. The NXT Tag Team titles and WWE NXT North American Championship will also be contested in St. Louis, adding to the excitement of this pivotal tour for “NXT.”
