Jon Moxley To Fight For AEW World Title At WrestleDream After Dynamite Grand Slam Win

Jon Moxley secured a victory over Darby Allin, taking Allin’s guaranteed AEW World Championship shot in the main event of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam on Wednesday. After the match, AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson ambushed Moxley from behind, choking him with a necktie in a nod to his infamous WWE firing in 2010.

This was also retaliation for Moxley’s betrayal at All Out when he choked Danielson with a plastic bag. Marina Shafir tried to separate them, but the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club—PAC and Claudio Castagnoli—came to Moxley’s aid. The BCC attacked Danielson while Moxley recovered, but Private Party’s Zay, Quen, and Komander rushed in to even the odds. Notably absent was Danielson’s ally, AEW Trios Champion Wheeler Yuta, who usually sides with Castagnoli and PAC.
