Eric Bischoff Reacts To AEW All Out 2024 Steel Cage Match

Eric Bischoff Reacts to AEW All Out 2024 Steel Cage Match Featuring “Hangman” Adam Page

At AEW All Out earlier this month, the steel cage main event showcased a fierce rivalry between Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page. This match has sparked considerable discussion, including controversial moments such as a chair shot to the head and the use of a hypodermic needle. On a recent episode of “83 Weeks,” Eric Bischoff shared his views, suggesting that the match represents AEW’s ongoing creative struggles.

“I just think, creatively, they’re in a pit,” Bischoff remarked. “It seems like the harder they try to escape, the deeper they sink. In my opinion, this was garbage. It’s not the kind of thing that will attract a broader audience.”

The former WCW executive elaborated that his experience has led him to expect certain outcomes from AEW, making it hard for him to take the promotion seriously. While AEW might sustain its core fanbase and achieve some level of success, Bischoff doesn’t believe it will see significant business growth.

“I don’t care if they secure five more renewals or get TV deals with other sports cable channels,” Bischoff said. “Those are positive developments, but they won’t transform the product or expand the business.”

Another controversial moment at All Out involved Jon Moxley nearly suffocating Bryan Danielson with a plastic bag before the main event. Bischoff also criticized this angle, labeling it as “cheap heat” and emphasizing that Danielson has much more to offer.

As hinted by Bischoff, there are rumors that AEW is nearing a new media rights agreement with Warner Bros Discovery and might also be pursuing another deal with Fox, in addition to their existing rights package.
