Eric Bischoff Lauds Powerful Moment in Netflix’s “Mr. McMahon” Documentary

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently commended the opening narration in the “Mr. McMahon” docu-series on Netflix, labeling it as “powerful as hell.”

The moment Bischoff highlights comes from the opening lines delivered by Paul Heyman in episode 5, where Heyman reflects on Vince McMahon’s traumatic childhood. He discusses the physical and sexual abuse McMahon endured from his stepfather, a topic McMahon has previously addressed in an interview with “Playboy” magazine. Heyman explained that McMahon “rebelled” against this abuse by creating an environment in which he felt “untouchable and invulnerable to outside forces.”

Bischoff praised Heyman’s delivery, stating, “That opening dialogue, narrative with Paul Heyman was powerful as hell. Paul is amazing. I don’t know that anybody could have expressed those thoughts as artfully and colorfully, frankly, as Paul Heyman did. There’s a reason Paul Heyman’s in the position that he’s in, and we got a close look at it right there.”

Reflecting on McMahon’s complexities, Bischoff noted that he often pondered what drives him, even before the controversies arose. He emphasized that he has never encountered anyone with McMahon’s level of focus, intensity, and commitment, while acknowledging that McMahon remains a challenging figure for many to understand, including himself.
