In professional wrestling, few could match the physical dominance of Vader. Standing at six-foot-five and weighing 450 lbs., Vader was a force to be reckoned with in WWE and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Arn Anderson, who shared the ring with Vader during their time in WCW between 1991 and 1995, discussed his experiences with the powerhouse on a recent episode of “ARN.”
“I’d rather have Vader on my team than face him in the ring,” Anderson remarked. “It was no picnic, pal. He would beat the ever-loving crap out of you, and there was no way to out-muscle or overpower him.”
Anderson reflected on teaming with Vader in two matches, but the two spent more time as adversaries. Their final encounter, a handicap match also featuring Ric Flair, took place during “WCW Clash of the Champions,” where Vader triumphed over both men.
“My goal going into the ring was just to survive,” Anderson admitted about his matches against Vader. “Tomorrow will feel a lot different. … Anyone stepping into the ring with Vader, if they say they’re not anxious, they’re lying. … Call it cowardice or common sense — that dude was bad news.”
